Take Nationwide Boom Lifts Below Ground. |
These
new articulating booms from Nationwide were craned into
position
below ground in the centre of Birmingham for contractors
to erect the steelwork for a casino and leisure complex.
K
Morris and Company of Kidderminster made full use of the
booms 46 feet platform height and articulating features
to reach higher levels of the building from the basement.
The
AB 46 booms have the further benefit of a 1.5m articulating
jib which can be positioned through 140 degrees, enabling
the operator to gain better access by manoeuvring the cage
into different positions in relation to the boom.
The
diesel-powered booms, supplied through Nationwide¹s Birmingham
North depot, have four wheel drive which came into its own
during the early phase of the contract when the ground was
rough before levelling work was carried out.
K
Morris and Company are sub contractors on the project to
main steelwork contractors Wescol Glosford plc in the construction
of the five-storey building for Five Ways Leisure. The main
contractors are Carillion.
