| Two
of the Nationwide Skyjack 9250s which were used at the
Lowry Centre. |
If
ever a job was made for Nationwide Access Skyjack 9250 scissor
lifts, then it had to be at the new Lowry Centre, a National
Landmark Millennium Project for the Arts in Salford Quays,
Greater Manchester.
No
other scissor lift on the market could meet the triple challenges
of a fitting out contract being undertaken at the centre
by Jarvis Newman:
- the
scissor lifts had to have a deck area of at least 6.5m
to accommodate the MDF panels which the contractors were
fitting to the centrešs walls.
- all
the floors within the centre are sloping, so the scissors
had to have self-levellers.
- they
also had to be compact enough to negotiate a height restriction
of just 2.2m. whilst having a 17m working height to provide
sufficient reach for the contractors.
The
three Skyjack 9250s hired to Jarvis Newman by Nationwide
met all these requirements and played a major role in helping
the contractors to complete a complicated operation in very
short timescales.
With
over 100 Skyjack 9250s in their fleet, Nationwide have more
scissors of this type than any other hirer. They are mainly
supplied to cladding and roofing contractors who find their
double extending decks particularly valuable.
