Nationwide,
the country's largest powered access company, has appointed
Colin Gornall as Regional Manager for Yorkshire and the
north and east Midlands. He is based at the company's Leeds
depot.
Although
a newcomer to the powered access industry, Colin brings
extensive management and logistics skills to the job, much
of which was gained during nine years with REME [Royal Electrical
& Mechanical Engineers]. He has also held a number of
operational management positions that have embraced customer
service, training, business process development and change
management. His former employers include high street electrical
retailer, Dixons.
After
his first two weeks in his new post, Colin says: "The
region has very capable and experienced staff and well stocked
fleets of modern, well maintained equipment at every depot.
I see many exciting opportunities for the team to develop
the area further, enhancing Nationwide's position as thecountry's
No 1 in powered access."
Colin,
his wife and 14-year-old daughter, have relocated from the
south east of England to Burnley in Wharfedale. His interests
include computing and motorcycling; he is also a keen coarse
fisherman and has recently taken up the electric guitar.
Nationwide
is part of the publicly-quoted Lavendon Group Plc and is
headquartered in Lutterworth, Leicestershire. Its hire fleet
is twice the size of its nearest UK competitor and all of
the company's depots comply with Nationwide's ISO 9002 accreditation.
The Group is also a major player in the European powered
access market, trading under the name Zooom in Germany,
France, Spain, Austria and Switzerland.
