Few
places are busier than London's Oxford Street during the run-up
to the festive season. So when Creative Display Partnership
of Tottenham Court Road needed to erect lights on the outside
of the Plaza in Oxford Street with the maximum speed and efficiency,
the company called in Nationwide, the UK's leading supplier
of powered access equipment.
A
key feature of Creative Displays' business - the erecting
and dismantling of displays, street lighting and decorations
at shopping centres - is that it is a delicate job that needs
to be achieved without disruption to nearby businesses or
the public. Hence, in this instance, a 34-metre Skylift truck
mount was duly supplied from Nationwide's powered access depot
at St Albans.
The
busy and bustling location meant that the vehicle was the
idea choice, as it could be manoeuvred into position with
ease and with the minimum of inconvenience to passers by and
rush-hour traffic. The provision of one of Nationwide's fully
qualified and experienced operators also meant that every
aspect of the truck mount's operation was taken care of professionally
and conscientiously.
Frustrated
and let down by Nationwide's competition on more than one
previous occasion, Creative Display was impressed with the
efficiency and reliability of service, stating, on completion
of the job, that Nationwide has "proven to be more superior"
than its trade rivals. Indeed the company was so pleased with
Nationwide's performance and service that it promptly hired
the same Skylift truck for another job. It is also a keen
and frequent user of Nationwide's scissor lifts, where the
required elevation is limited to vertical movement.
Nationwide's
Skylift fleet currently consists of 166 truck mounted telescopic
and articulating access booms and there are nearly two-dozen
models from which to choose. While any one of Nationwide's
countrywide powered access depots can arrange the hire of
Skylift equipment and a driver/operator, specialist help is
also readily available from the Master Skylift depots in Glasgow,
Coventry, Manchester, London, Leeds and Cardiff.
Nationwide
is part of the publicly-quoted Lavendon Group plc and is headquartered
in Lutterworth, Leicestershire. It commands a hire fleet of
around 6,000 units - more than twice the size of its nearest
competitor. The Group is also a major player in the European
powered access market, trading under the name Zooom in Germany,
France, Spain and Austria. Full details on the company's entire
line-up of booms, scissor lifts and truck mounts, depot locations,
machine sales, training and Power Guard can be found at www.nationwideaccess.com
