Nationwide,
recently voted National Hire Company of the Year by the Hire
Association of Europe, has added 50 of the latest generation
of Upright LX31 scissor lifts, to it's fleet, which now boasts
the new extra spacious LX Supa-Deck work platform.
The
new scissor lift is aimed at satisfying the demanding needs
of the heavy construction sector, which often has to contend
with bulky materials and cumbersome components. The new deck
boasts a number of features that make it ideal for cladding
and roofing applications, when welding steel-framed structures,
erecting exterior sidings and carrying out glazing operations.
Contractors
will find that the LX31 with its LX Supa-Deck provides them
with 11.5 metres of working height and over seven metres of
aerial work platform space, when the twin deck extensions
are deployed. The work platform also has a roomy width of
1.73 metres, which means that at full extension, the LX Supa-Deck
offers a team of workers, with materials, no less than 12.1
square metres of workspace. This is sure to make functioning
at elevated heights easier and safer, particularly as the
platform is also supported by heavy-duty elevating linkage,
which provides reassuring stability at height.
The
work platform can carry a weight of up to 794 kilograms and
its 1.64-metre low retraction height and side gates provide
easy on and off access and simplify the loading of materials,
which make it an especially appropriate choice for heavy construction
work.
For
users working in crowded or congested construction sites,
the LX31 offers a dual link steering system, which provides
an exceptionally tight turning radius of 1.22 metres. The
platform is also endowed with four-wheel drive and oscillating
front axle, which allows it to work on ground that slopes
up to 30 degrees from the horizontal.
"The addition of the new LX Supa-Deck to the LX 31 scissor
lift is a very welcome addition to Nationwide's 6,000 strong
UK hire fleet," says Nichola Balmer, Nationwide's Sales
& Marketing Director. She continues: "It will certainly
make a significant contribution towards cutting programme
times and construction costs on many projects."
Nationwide
is part of the publicly-quoted Lavendon Group Plc and is headquartered
in Lutterworth, Leicestershire. Its hire fleet is twice the
size of its nearest UK competitor and all of the company's
depots comply with Nationwide's ISO 9002 accreditation. The
Group is also market leader in the European powered access
market, trading under the name Zooom in Germany, France, Spain
and Austria.
