REACHING HIGHER AT HIGHFIELD ROAD

An Aerial T22 truck mounted access platform made a brief appearance at Coventry City's Highfield Stadium last week to help specialist contractor Moseley Neon erect new signage over the stadium's West End terrace.

Moseley Neon was employed by the club to remove the old signage and install the name of the stand's new sponsor, D-Drill.

"The job of fixing the 700 mm high characters was straightforward" says Ian Bullock, director of Moseley Neon, "except for the fact that Moseley's own 17 m high 'cherry-picker' was several metres too short".

"When we have a job that we can't do with our own machine, we always go to Nationwide Access", explains Mr Bullock. "They're always on site promptly and do a professional job - we never have any problems with Nationwide", he adds.

The T22 machine has a boom height of 22 m, which enabled Moseley's staff to tackle the work with ease. Hired out for one day with an operator, the truck mounted machine was able to arrive promptly, get to work immediately and leave the site as quickly as it arrived.

"We could have supplied a self-propelled boom lift, but that would have had to be carried to site on a flat-bed truck and would have taken much longer to deploy and ship out", says Mr Burton. "The truck-mount was in and out with no fuss at all".
