Nationwide Access, the UK's largest provider of powered access equipment, has helped Keira Knightly, Tom Cruise and a host of other Hollywood stars to be spotted in the centre of Manchester recently; on giant promotional banners at Triangle Shopping centre.
Two 10 metre x 2 metre banners are regularly hung outside the centre as part of a campaign to promote the latest blockbusters from Universal Pictures. The most recent movie to be advertised is Pride and Prejudice starring Keira Knightly, Matthew Macfadyen, Brenda Blethyn and Donald Sutherland.
Replacing the banners is a tall order, requiring expert knowledge of sign installation along with the use of flexible powered access equipment. For Pride and Prejudice, Nationwide Access supplied contractors MC Signs (UK) Limited with a 66J Cherry Picker Boom Lift to give them the height and reach they needed at the city centre site.
Matthew Cooke, project manager at MC Signs (UK) Limited said: "We replace the publicity banners at Triangle on a regular basis and we always use Nationwide Access machines.
"The banner site is in a busy pedestrian area so we need to use boom lifts to give us easy and quick access. They give us the height we need and allow us to reach across the top of the surrounding trees and streetlights to put the banners in place as easily as possible."
The film, which is released on Friday 16 September, is the latest adaptation of the Jane Austen classic.
