LIGHTING UP ARSENAL'S EMIRATES STADIUM
When the Arsenal team take to the field at the club's new Emirates Stadium next season, it will be thanks in part to Nationwide Access, the UK's largest supplier of powered access equipment.

The 60,000-seat stadium in Islington is currently under construction by main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd.

Nationwide Access has supplied a fleet of 20 scissor lifts and cherry pickers to electrical contractors Goodmarriott and Hursthouse. They are being used for both mechanical and electrical work and on the glazing for the new facilities.

A fleet of Genie and Upright diesel scissor lifts with working heights of between 8 and 12 metres are currently on site along with some Bi Fuel cherry pickers with reaches of 15 metres. Machines are being used by Goodmarriott & Hursthouse to install electrical systems and containment, which will light and power the stadium, and to assist with external remedial works including fixing and snagging on the exterior glass panels.

Nationwide Access will be supplying machines to the site until Emirates Stadium is completed in time for the 2006/07 season. The stadium has been named Emirates Stadium, after Arsenal signed the biggest club sponsorship agreement in English football history with the Dubai-based international airline - to the value of £100 million.
