Nationwide's truck mount division, Skylift has made a further investment in the self operated truck mount market with the purchase of six new S15 machines; the first 3.5 tonne truck mount platforms in the UK offering a specifically engineered 250kg basket payload.
"We collaborated with CTE to have a bigger basket capacity and also an additional flatbed mounted storage box after consulting our customers" stated Peter Douglas (pictured left), Skylift's General Manager and newly appointed Commercial Director of Nationwide. "Be it a signage company, a CCTV installer, a tree surgeon or a telecoms contractor the overriding response was that our clients needed to transport and raise their equipment with the minimum of inconvenience within the usual working envelopes."
The truck mount conversion was a lengthy procedure needing rigorous specification and quality conformance. "The time and investment it has taken to re-engineer these machines is a small price to pay to ensure that we are providing the right access solutions to our customers" offered Peter. "Moreover this purchase represents an on-going programme of investment in self operated machines, with 27 already brought into the country this year and a significant further investment planned for next year" explained Peter.
The purchase of these S15 platforms also marks the re-launch & marketing of Bizzochi truck mounts, bought by CTE SpA last year, under the CTE badge in the UK. "The S15 straight telescopic is the first product resulting from the integration of Bizzocchi and CTE design and engineering resources. Standardization of components can be seen clearly in the S15; the chassis sub-frame and outriggers and much of the basket load sensing safety system are straight from the CTE Z range. This will be an ongoing process that will bring a widening product range with improved specification and at reduced costs to our customers." said Brian King (pictured right), Commercial Director of CTE UK. "The S15 is designed from feedback directly from our customers: a simple, safe and versatile machine with excellent 250kg/200kg payload at 8m and 9m outreaches respectively" he added.
