The Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) has formed an agreement with Nationwide Access, the powered access equipment hire specialists, to offer ECA members up to 15 per cent discount off their standard rates for Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) operator training courses.
Nationwide Access has over ten years' experience of delivering MEWPS training globally and offers a selection of courses covering numerous types of access equipment including scissor lifts, telescopic and articulating booms, truck mounts, personnel lifts and specialist machines.
Peter Whittall, Managing Director of Nationwide Access Limited, said "This agreement marks a milestone in our relationship with the ECA and is part of an on-going initiative to collaborate with industry bodies in the pursuit of promoting safe and sector specific access usage and solutions." He added, "Working closely with the ECA and its members we look forward to both listening and contributing to the essential dialogue of shaping this sector’s work at height needs."
These sentiments were elaborated on by Iain Macdonald Head of Education and Training at the ECA, "We see the market benefiting from this relationship as clients become more prescriptive in their demands – ECA members who choose to undergo specialist MEWPs training rather than using more traditional access equipment should reap the rewards from client recognition of their investment in health and safety."
ECA's choice of powered access training provider was informed by its members' experiences. "Nationwide's courses are already of proven interest to ECA members, with many larger ECA firms choosing Nationwide as their preferred training provider in this area for some time. The arrangement between ECA and Nationwide will be of particular benefit to our important member base of SMEs, making these specialist courses more accessible to all." Iain explained.
ECA members can benefit from discounts applying to all Nationwide Access open-access courses including the recently developed IPAF accredited MEWPs for Managers course. The discount applies to training held at the 26 Nationwide Access training centres across the UK.
