Nationwide Access and Parry Bowen have been instrumental in the completion of the new £80m South Stand at Twickenham Rugby Football Club, the home of the England Team.  The South Stand redevelopment includes a 156 room hotel and has six VIP Suites with views over the pitch, conference and exhibition space, fitness club and office space.

Parry Bowen won the contract to install the glass on the new stand, which required working on all five levels.  To enable the curtain walling installation, machines needed to be craned into place on all five levels.

A wide range of machines were used by Parry Bowen including a large number of LX31 scissors lifts, which are ideal for the curtain walling installation.  The ability of being craned onto each level enabled the installation to be completed quickly, easily and safely.  45’ and 85’ booms were also on site.  Parry Bowen have been working on this site since August 2006.

Paul Casterton, Project Manager of Parry Bowen said “Due to the complexity of the installation, Parry Bowen required the correct machinery to ensure that suitable access to the work areas could be achieved. Nationwide's large range of machines allowed the installation to be carried out in accordance with the latest programme and most importantly in a manner, which was safe to both the Parry Bowen operatives and other trades working in close proximity”. 

Parry Bowen employed approximately 40 operatives and management including Project Managers and Designers to subcontractors on this project.
Nationwide Access were chosen as the preferred supplier on this site by Parry Bowen, as service levels on such a demanding site is a key factor and can make or break the completion of such a long term project.  Competitive hire rates and good service were delivered throughout the project.
