Q: Is Power Guard an insurance policy? A: NO - It is an indemnity scheme operated by Nationwide Access Ltd.
Q: Is accidental damage covered? A: YES - Subject to terms & conditions of the scheme selected.
Q: What about vandalism, malicious damage, fire or theft? A: The Platinum Scheme offers complete cover against this - terms and conditions apply.
Q: Is there an "excess" to be paid in the event of a claim? A: No - Not on the Gold scheme, which covers accidental damage. The Platinum scheme carries an excess of £1,000. |

A customer runs over a nail on site and gets a puncture - this would be covered under accidental damage - most people would consider this to be an accident.
A customer drives a machine over a ground which is littered with broken glass and nails and gets a puncture. Most people would consider that in doing this there would be a good chance of getting a puncture. This would be deemed operator negligence.
A customer parks a machine next to a building. A tile falls from the roof and damages the basket. The damage would be unforseen when parking the machine and would therefore, be an accident.
A customer parks a machine next to a building being demolished. A wall collapses and falls onto the machine. This would be operator negligence as most people would consider that parking the machine there was likely to lead to damage. |

How to apply for Power Guard |
|
We automatically place all new customers onto Gold cover, so if you are happy with this, you need do nothing. If you wish to take advantage of the Platinum Scheme, then please call your local depot on 0845 745 0000 or complete an Upgrade Form.
If you feel you have sufficient cover and wish to opt out of the Power Guard Scheme, then please write to the Accounts Department enclosing a copy of your Hired-in Plant Insurance Policy. |
