Nationwide have the largest powered access training department in the UK, offering highly effective courses for powered access operators. A Nationwide course quickly enables operators to save time, achieve difficult access more easily, and use safe practice.
Regulations The Health and safety at work act 1974 places a duty on the employer to provide an adequate level of training to allow employees to operate equipment safely and competently. All courses conducted by Nationwide enable your company to comply with this requirement.
Qualifications Courses are approved by either the construction Industry Training Board under the Certificate of Training Achievement (CITB/CTA) or by the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF). Both of these schemes are nationally recognised and provide the operator with a permit valid for five years.
The two schemes have the additional benefit of being the first step on the route to an NVQ for those who require it.
Location Nationwide has approved training centres, strategically located to cover the whole country. Additionally, training can be carried out at any site, providing suitable facilities are available.
Courses are available on the following categories
Scissor Lifts
Boom Lifts

Nationwide Access is an Accredited CAP Centre
Since 1998, the law requires all powered access equipment to be "thoroughly examined" on a regular basis by a Competent Person.
The IPAF Competent Assessed Person (CAP) scheme provides guidance through presentations and individually assesses those attending the sessions. Successful assessment provides suitable candidates with the valuable documentary evidence which confirms that IPAF regards them as competent persons to plan, manage or carry out thorough examinations of platforms in the context of current legislation including the Work at Height Regulations, LOLER and PUWER 98.
